Finding A Place To Work

Hobbies : Writing

Most writers need to have their own space to work in. Certainly if you have a family and children around then it can be very hard indeed to concentratae without interruption which is what you need.

Authors always say their best work often comes out even in isolation where they can really let their mind flow and imagination run. Often this means a country retreat or something similar.

Of course many of us can't afford that luxury and are stuck very much in the here and now. So what can you do in this circumstance?

Well, at least try to find a place that can be your sanctuary and is quiet. For instance build a small, simple shed in the garden that just keeps the rain out, is light and has some writing paper and a pen.

Get others to respect that when you are in there it is your own office space and you don't want to be disturbed if possible.

Ensure that you too have the separation between this area and normal life - whilst there you are absorbed with your writing, but whilst outside don't take the writing work out with you else you erode the effectiveness of the space.
