Florentine And Venetian Painting: Differences

Hobbies : Art

The key difference between these two schools during the 16th century is all about the way in which the pictures were composed.

To express it in the most simple terms, the art work of the Venetians was focussed and based very much around colour. Colour dominated the art form and was seen everywhere - even shadows have some sort of colours in them, above and beyond black.

Meanwhile the Florentine painting was very much based around the concept of pure drawing, much less so colour.
