Following Up On A Press Release

Business : PR

Opinion is of course divided on whether you should follow up on your press release. This sometimes comes down to impatience and personal tenacity, many are not scared to heckle a journalist almost into taking a look at their work, but remember this rarely does shove them into action.

There are occasions where a reminder can genuinely work if someone was interested in your story but very busy at the time and got side tracked.

However most often the fact there is no interest is for a reason and having an extra phone call can just frustrate a busy journalist and not endear them to you. Don't push it too far as you never know when you will have another press release in the future and you want that to be treated on an even keel!
