How To Get A Graduate Job
| Education : University Competition for graduate jobs can be intense, particularly with the major players in the recruitment market - accountancy firms and so forth. They will have many more applicants for places than places on offer, and often a short amount of time to decide if you are suitable for them or not. So if you want to work for them straight from uni, you need to impress. The key is to do your research. Many students are inherently a little lazy(!) so won't prepare much for an interview. This means that when the company asks what you know about them, or why you want to work for them, they will give some generic answer. And this gives you a chance to stand out - by honing a particular response to the company you can really stand out. Mention a recent newspaper article that discussed them, for instance, and comment on it. This shows dedication and a real interest and can leap frog you up the pile!
