Not only do you decide how much you earn - and can vote yourself a nice 22% pay rise in a YEAR, you also get a gravy train pension unlike everyone else who has to scrimp, save and suffer. Best of all of course is the expenses with the average MP claiming over ?100,000 in expenses each and every YEAR! And they wonder why people don't think politicians are in touch with the real world... the reason of course is that they are not - and what's more there is no incentive for them to be!
