How To Get Good Portrait Shots

Hobbies : Photography

Here are some tips for getting your subjects to come out better in portrait shots, particularly if they are a little shy in front of the camera at times!

The first tip is to ask your subject to lean very slightly in when the shot is taken. The result is that the lines this creates will naturally draw the viewer of the photo in to the shot, and will also look nice and welcoming.

Next, ensure that the subject is looking directly (straight) into the camera. Shots slightly from the side get the dimensions out of kilter a bit and can look strange.

Finally make sure you only say 'ready' when you are ready, to reduce the chance of blinks and tired smiles turning out in your shots!
