How To Get Healthy Nails

Beauty : Hands And Feet

What you eat reflects how healthy your nails are.

A lack of vitamin A and calcium causes nails to become dry and brittle.

A diet low in protein, folic acid and vitamin C causes hang nails.

White marks on nails are caused by a lack of protein so make sure you drink lots of milk for example, and they should grow out.

A lack in hydrochloric acid can cause nails to split.

An insufficient intake of vitamin B12 can lead to excessive dryness, very rounded and curved ends and cause nails to go dark.

If you dont consume much zinc then this can cause development of white spots on the nails too.

You may need to drink more liquids if you have cuts and cracks.

Red skin around cuticles can be caused by a poor metabolism of essential fatty acids.

Make sure you eat a diet of 50% fruit and raw vegetables to supply necessary vitamins, minerals and enzymes. Choose foods rich in sulfur and silicon, such as broccoli, fish and onions, and also thosein biotin like soy, brewers yeast and whole grain.

Regularly drink water and other drinks.

Royal jelly, spirulina or kelp, can help strengthen nails as they are rich in silica, zinc and B vitamins. Also try drinking fresh carrot juice every day as this is high in calcium and phosphorus.
