How To Get Windows XP To Boot Every Time

Computing : Operating Systems

For those of you not naturally gifted when it comes to understanding what is going on with your computer, then consider this handy tip.

If you have problems with windows XP not booting every time or looping or something along those lines, then here is a really useful piece of advice from reader Darren on how to get around these problems:

Windows XP won't boot or loops everytime.

Pop in your Windows XP disk, and press a key to boot from CD when prompted.

Wait a few minutes and you'll get the choice to go to recovery console or installing XP.

Recovery console can be invaluable.

At the prompt type chkdsk /p /r. Checkdisk has been known to solve huge problems with XP.
You can do a repair installation of Windows XP as well using the XP CD. You won't lost any documents and all your software will be still intact.

Instead of opting for the Recovery Console, go for Installtion. The next choice you will get is to Repair Windows.
