How To Get Your Child To Tidy Their Room

Self Development : Parenting

Most kids hate the idea of tidying their room. Whilst when they are younger they may reluctantly do so, as they hit their teenage years this may be impossible. And some will refuse downright to tidy up saying they like the mess or just ignoring the request.

So how can you encourage them to tidy the room? One way is through reward schemes such as pocket money for keeping their room tidy.

Another possibility is to let them personalise the room more if they tidy it. For instance let them turn it into the room that they want if they keep it tidy.

So if they want a TV and a proper chair in there for instance or even a small sofa so that they can have their friends round and have it like their own space rather than just a bedroom then say these are all possibilities as long as they take responsibility and keep it clean.

Incentives are usually great at getting these things done!
