Once you have written your list of reasons for giving up that bad habit, the next thing you need to do is actually take positive steps to give it up for good.

What you should do is ensure there is a feel good connection in you between giving it up and how you feel.

So in the example where you give up coffee, every time you think about coffee or are offered one but turn it down, then give yourself a pat on the back and feel virtuous and happy for a couple of minutes.

The positive association of this approach will help and make it easier to give up.
