Gardening
Most people bury seeds too deep, twice the diameter of the seed is about right for sowing depth, so with small seeds sieve soil and compost over them for a light covering. Three things a seed needs to have to germinate. WARMTH, (more than 45f.) AIR and CONTACT with the soil. Water the soil BEFORE sowing and firm in after covering up with the back of a rake. If the soil dries out use the MISTING setting on your hose nozzel or a very fine rose on your watering can and water during the evening. DO NOT create a water sodden cap over your seeds, by doing that you elliminate air and your seeds will rot through anairobic respiration of the soil bacteria
