How To Have A Long Career

There are two very useful skills to having a long career with a company. The first of these is simply to keep your nose clean and stay out of trouble!

If there is a rumour or gossip mill at work then surely you will know people for whom it has come back to bite them, either things that they have said or other things that have come back to them or about them!

Therefore when others are engaging in gossip if at all possible, try not to yourself - it will make for a smoother career all round!

Secondly, try to be assertive when necessary and take decisions when necessary. These are difficult skills to have if they don't come naturally to you, but critical to modern business.
