It's hard enough for adults to lose weight with their discipline and will power, but for kids it can be even harder - they just want to have fun all the time and lack the willpower of most adults.

1 - Consult a Doctor

Check that he/she agrees the child needs to lose weight, and what to do - probably a diet.

2 - Diet for one means diet for all

The best way to get the child to stick to the diet is for the whole family to go on the same diet (sorry!) but that way they don't feel they are missing out on more tempting options

3 - Occasional treats

Use the odd treat to help encourage your child
