How To Help A Friend In Need
Relationships : Friendships It is often said that the judge of a good friend is that they are there for you in good times and bad. This contrasts with a fairweather friend who is there when the times are good but then disappears when times are bad or things are not fun all of the time. If a friend of yours is in need then the best way to help is simply to make your time available to them to talk to when they need someone to talk to, and also to try to be a good listener and not judgemental about what they have to say. If you feel that there is something that you can say to help then by all means do suggest it but don't try to force your opinions on them. If the matter at hand is something that you feel you could interfere with - for instance a relationship problem and you want to tackle the partner - then don't do so as you could make matters worse and end up losing your friend. Remember it is for the friend to sort out but this does not stop you giving all the help, support and advice that you can in the mean time.
