Digestion is an important process which many of us don't respect.

We eat in a hurry, then don't give ourselves time to rest afterwards - and then wonder why we end up with heartburn or a variety of other symptoms.

If you suffer from digestive problems, then ensure that you eat in the right way.

Don't just sit in front of TV with food on a tray - rather eat at a table.

This makes it harder for the stomach acid to rise up into the gullet as happens when you're slouched in front of the TV!

Also if you are a smoker then don't smoke when you are full up because this can encourage heartburn.

Always allow enough time to digest meals before engaging in any physical activity - an hour or so is the ideal amount.
