This makes it harder for the stomach acid to rise up into the gullet as happens when you're slouched in front of the TV! Also if you are a smoker then don't smoke when you are full up because this can encourage heartburn. Always allow enough time to digest meals before engaging in any physical activity - an hour or so is the ideal amount.
