Here is the KEY idea that you need to remember before interviewing:

- Interviewing is actually a BAD way of finding the right employee for your job, BUT it is the best of a bad set of ways of finding the right person.

Ideally of course everyone you think could make the grade would be asked to come and work for you for a couple of weeks free to see how it goes - but that's just not practical, for you or the employee.

So, interviewing it is. Bearing this in mind, you may be surprised that it is CONFIDENCE of the individual that makes you hire them or not, much more than what is on their CV.

But being CONFIDENT alone will not deliver the results that you want - they need skills too, and it takes a very good interviewer to get beneath the surface of a candidate.

The one major tip to any small business is not to be blinded by confident answers - ensure that the content is there to back it up. Ensure that the CV is impressive and they have a track record of delivery.

Follow up those references and ensure that what they say is true!
