How Fake Tan Works
Beauty : Tanning Fake tan is a product that you apply to the skin and makes it look as though you are tanned, but without the exposure to the sun. They work through a chemical called dihydroxyacetone. This is a chemical that stains the outer layer of skin cells which are dead. Over time, the build up of dihydroxyacetone makes the skin look as though it is tanned, until the skin that is stained is naturally shed by the body. They can last for several weeks, but at least should last a few days, so are a good option if you want to look tanned safely and without massive exposure to the sun - and they are quite cheap, too.
