Just don't try and emulate their achievements from the start. But having a fit friend who acts as inspiration for you, and attainable inspiration not some ridiculous stick thin celebrity, can really help you in your weight loss. And if you do have someone else doing the weight loss journey with you, then you can try and motivate each other. If they drop off then so be it, but at least having someone there when you take the initial steps can be a great help.
