How Too Good A CV Can Stop You Getting A Job
| Career : CV It may seem strange, but the fact is sometimes a really strong CV can be too good for the job, depending what you are going for. There is a common line or excuse which goes along the lines of "sorry you are brilliant but just too qualified for this role", a bit akin to the "I'm not ready for a relationship right now" in the personal sphere. The fact is that whilst having a glittering career history is great, it can put some people off. Therefore rather than listing your entire career history, it is best to just focus on the last five to ten years. You can list roles before that but don't elaborate on them, even if there are achievements during that time which you are really very proud of.
