How To Identify If A Child Is Dyslexic

Education : Teaching

Here are some symptoms that can help identify dyslexia:

- the child gets confused by things you say and request of them

- you have to repeat yourself several times or rephrase what you say

- the child finds it hard to repeat, or explain to you

- when the child reads outloud, does he/she talk fluidly or in a choppy manner, a few words at a time

- does the child confuse words, for instance at for eat or tea, and sometimes replace words with other similarly spelt words?

If you think a child is dyslexic, speak to the parent, and recommend that the child be professionally tested if necessary.
