How To Improve Your Memory

Career : Career Techniques

To help improve your memory, you need to learn to associate and link words and concepts together.

One way to do this is to tell a story. For instance, if you have to remember to buy sausages, a shaver and milk then try to tell a little story to link the items together.

Another way to remember a longer list, for instance your appointments for a month, is to create a journey that you know well in your head with a certain number of stops.

If you have 10 appointments, associate each one with a stop on the journey: e.g. leaving the front door, reaching the main road, reaching the motorway etc., This association and mental mapping will help you remember anything that you wish to remember.
