As a rule, the baggier and looser the better - therefore boxer shorts are better than briefs and baggy trousers better than something that is tight. The reason for this is that the region should be as cool as possible, and the tighter the grip of the clothing the warmer things will get in general which can adversely affect sperm count and therefore fertility.
