How To Increase Interview Success

Jobs : Job Search

When you are on a job search, the inevitable end point is the dreaded interview. We try to get interviews of course, but then when we come along we can be nervous.

What can you do to give yourself a good chance, other than prepare well and give good answers?

Well, people will employ people first and foremost - those they are comfortable with.

Therefore during the interview try some subtle mirroring of the way in which the interviewer acts. If possible, tune into their breathing pattern and adopt the same one.

This is something few people are conscious of, and yet is a factor in putting us at ease in someone elses company.

Of course, remember the bottom line - prepare well, listen to the question, answer the question, be specific... and talk about yourself and not 'the team'. Remain positive, smile, good eye contact, good handshake at the start and the end and come prepared with a couple of questions to ask them.
