| Career : Working Abroad There is one very simple thing you can do to increase your chance of working abroad. And that is to learn a language, and even better more than one language. You will notice that adverts for jobs abroad in the paper will understandably ask for a command of one other language, but even better more than one. Why? Because many companies are now truly multi-national and therefore it will be an advantage if you can speak several foreign languages. Example: speak french AND spanish in addition to english and you will be particularly desirable. Suggestion: take the time to learn a language to business level either through total immersion or dedicated training (often paid for by companies which is even better to save you forking out the money). You have learned something valuable and will stand yourself in great stead to get work abroad.
