How To Increase Your Options At Work
Career : Workplace Issues If you want more options at work, and the potential to move into different jobs, different roles and different areas, then you need to network. The basic reason is that the more people you know and the more you know and the more you find out, the more opportunities and ideas will come to you. The thing with networking is that you often don't get instant returns, but somewhere down the line someone will trigger an idea or will remember you and offer you a job elsewhere or open a door for you. To use a horrible phrase, you do have to kiss a lot of frogs to find your prince, as it were. So why not take the time to meet and greet colleagues in other departments and network well at social occasions and so on within the company to build your profile, meet lots of people throughout the organisation and find lots of good jobs for you in the process.
