People commute further to work and generally travel much further from home on a regular basis than they would even thirty or forty years ago. This coupled with the expense and uselessness of public transport - at least in Britain - means that parking space is not a nice to have but an essential for many. Those with two or even three cars are not uncommon and therefore good drive space can be a real winner when it comes to making a sale on a property. Therefore if you have a little unused land at the side of the house for instance, consider converting to a parking space or perhaps building a garage or equivalent feature. This will add to the property of the house almost certainly above and beyond the cost incurred developing the feature, and therefore overall will be sure to add to the value of your property.
