This guide has carefully been compiled by people who have had worked for companies that specifically gear on training candidates to apply for the best jobs for them, and ensure that they give their best possible performance at interview - before, during and after. As such we confidently believe that there will be something in this guide for you, and the advice contained herein.

Looking for a new job, or indeed a first job, can be a nervewracking and very daunting process. If looking for your first job, then you may well have never had an interview before. If you are leaving a job for whatever reason in search of a new one, or have been made redundant, then there may be financial pressures on getting another job that suits you, and additionally it may be a long time since you last participated in an interview. You may be leaving the security of another job and role that you knew well, and the change can be daunting as well as exciting.

This guide therefore aims to help you out as much as possible in the whole process - from looking for jobs, to the application, and then the interview itself and any tests that may come with it. Of course we can't look specifically at every sector, and there may be particular advice or methods in specialised areas that cannot be given here - however, following the generalist advice given here should ensure that you do not go far wrong. Often there are no right and wrong ways of doing things, since different companies and different roles will have different preferences and requirements from an applicant. Bearing this in mind, there are very definitely better and worse ways of doing things, and we aim to show you the preferred methods as much as is practicable.
