There has been a lot of talk about Jillian Michaels DVD - 30 Day Shred.
Jillian Michaels is well known for her role as a trainer in Biggest Looser and she has released a lot of stuff about loosing weight and getting fit.
30 Day Shred - Has been said to be a DVD in which people of any fitness level can use. The DVD contains a mixture of cardio and strength work. There are three workouts on the DVD designed to take you from beginner level through to a more expert level. The training is done in three 6 minute intervals. 2 minutes of cardio, 3 minutes of strength training and then 1 minute of ab movements. The whole routine takes about 25 minutes and this includes a warm up and a cool down (vital for proper exercise and results)
Jillian says that she can take you from level 1 to level 3 in just 30 days and states you could lose up to 20 pounds! But Level 1 itself is actually quite hard so is this really possible?
The reviews are good and people say they have lost weight with this DVD and that they have ached afterwards. But some have said they didn't reach level 3 because levels 1 and 2 are challenging in themselves and there was no need to go up to the third level. The DVD is proven to help with weight loss but what it doesn't state is that a healthy diet is vital in seeing these changes, you cant just do the DVD and expect to drop 20 pounds. Everyone's body is different anyway and bigger people will lose more. You should only use 2 pounds a week in order to have a healthy loss, one in which will stay off. After the 30 days if you stop the DVD and stop exercise you might put the weight you lost back on. Its vital to continue with the same routine.
All exercise is good exercise so the DVD will not do you any harm, just make sure you have checked with your doctor before hand, which is stated at the beginning of the DVD.
