Keep Your Fridge Clean And Safe
Cleaning : Kitchen Cleaning Clean your fridge on a weekly basis. Do this by spraying with disinfectant, scrub then repeat. Don't over do it though, otherwise you food may have a ammonia scent. Your fridge should be between 0 to 5 degrees centigrade, and your freezer below - 18 degrees centigrade. Use a fridge thermometer to check food is being stored at the correct temperature. A few up to date fridges also have special compartments in which to store different types of food, for example meat and vegetables. So make sure you do not store any meat in the vegetable zone, because the temperature there may be higher. Don't leave your fridge door open for long periods of time as the temperature can quickly rise and create a breeding ground for bacteria. Keep all bottles and jars closed so things stay fresh. Cover all left overs well and consume them within a couple of days. Always keep raw meats away from cooked meats. Cover both well, and also store the raw ones at the bottom to avoid juices dripping and contaminating other foods.
