How To Knock In A Cricket Bat

Sport : Cricket

It is important that you treat a cricket bat correctly upon first purchase to maximise its longevity.

Oiling your cricket bat is the first step in the knocking in process. Use the Raw Linseed. Apply twice overnight.

Then use an old cricket ball and bounce gently up and down on the bat for a few hours. The next day, do another couple of hours knocking in, but hitting the bat harder.

Have a net session with a real ball for an hour or so. Your finger nail should no longer leave an indentation on the bat as it would have at the start of the process. It is now safe to use the bat in a match. Good luck!
