Wear colours that compliment your wardrobe, but if wearing them for work then you should go for a brown, black or navy blue so you look professional. Otherwise conservative colours work well when contrasting with skirts, dresses and anything you have in your wardrobe. When in an informal setting, you could go for patterns that contrast well with your existing outfits. Buy a few pairs so you can test out and experiment with different styles to see what works the best. Look at different textures too, and be sure to carry a bottle of clear nail varnish with you in case they rip. Avoid plain white tights as these are more for junior school children.
