It may sound odd, but having something hot before eating can help you to lose weight.

The recommendation is something like a little soup, or perhaps a cup of tea - whether standard or green - around 20 minutes before having a meal.

The reason for this is the hot water in the drink. And that hot water helps to slow down the production of acid in the stomach when it is empty, and therefore this apparently can help you with your dieting!
