Particularly if you are applying in poor light then you may not realise how much gloss is there and really cake it on. However in natural light not only will this look like it is too much but in addition to that fact you will find that it will end up smearing and even over the whole face which is not really what you are after! Therefore be sure to just use a finer coat. Another great tip to make it stay on longer is to do the application with a lip brush - this will help the lip gloss to stay on longer.
