How To Make Your Children Feel At Home When Visiting

Relationships : Family

If your children do not live with you but either their father or mother, perhaps because you have split up, then it is important that you make them feel relaxed and at home when they do come to visit you.

The best way to do this is to set aside some space that is just for them.

It need not be a whole bedroom for instance, but rather perhaps just a small play area with some of their favourite and familiar toys.

Since they are not used to or normally in your environment, then this familiarity can make them feel at home and relaxed, and is therefore a good idea to try to follow through on.

If they stay over for nights for instance at the weekend perhaps then also ensure that objects around them are familiar, for instance keep the sort of tooth paste that they are used to using.
