Making Money From Photography: Newspapers

Hobbies : Photography

Another potential avenue for you to explore when it comes to making money is to try to get some work taking pictures for local newspapers.

They are usually always in need of some intrepid local who knows the area well to take their pictures when required, often at short notice particularly these days.

Often you need to have a portfolio of suitable pictures to show them up front, and so this is worth considering in order to get the contract.

Note too that you should be pro active so go and take shots and offer them up rather than just sit around and wait to be called upon - the more you do for them the more attractive you are for them as it saves them always thinking about what to send you off to get a shot of.

Note too there are news agencies that may offer similar work to local papers, and there is always the promise of something really significant happening in your area where upon suddenly there may be interest from the nationals and a lot of money on its way to you.
