Other tips for microwaving food safely include:

- The constant rotation of food. The majority of microwaves will do this automatically, but sometimes they get stuck. Therefore keep a watchful eye on the food as if not rotated it will not cook evenly which can be dangerous when it comes to eating.

- Stir the food frequently, which will help to move the food around and spread the heat, and mean that all parts are more likely to be heated evenly as a result

- After cooking time has finished, leave the food for a minute or two. The reason for this is that the food will continue to cook under its own heat, and this means there is more chance to finish cooking and for the heat to be spread well and evenly through the food.
