Money : Saving

White vinegar can be used for cleaning windows in a 25% mix to 75% water. It can also be used to get rid of limescale – just wrap a paper towel soaked in hot vinegar around the base of the taps and leave for one hour. Remove and rinse – do not use on plated fixings though. It can also be used as a spray on weed killer.

Bicarbonate of sofa can be used to remove stubborn smells from your hands if soap doesn’t do the trick. It can also be used to remove stubborn grease when mixed with water. Sprinkle it in smelly shoes to freshen them up.

Soda water can be poured onto red wine stains and then absorbed with layers of paper towels until gone.

Lemons can whiten your nails when soaked in them with a mix of water for 5 mins. It can also freshen up fridges and clean copper, when mixed with salt.

Use banana skin to give brown leather shoes an extra shine. All you need to do is rub the inside of the skin over the shoe.
