How To Move On Ice

Sport : Other Sports And Tips

When you go ice skating, it is not too obvious how to go about moving!

Well, if you are right-footed (which you will probably already know - are you right or left-handed?!) then place pressure on your left foot, then shove yourself forward in a diagonal direction out with your right foot. This moves you forward.

Then, repeat this but with the left.

It is slightly counter intuitive at first perhaps, as you are used to walking straight forward on land, but on water, the diagonal movements are the ones to use.

Note that if you are left footed, you should undertake the same process, but in reverse.
