How To Multiply Out A Pair Of Brackets

Education : Maths

A classic algebra question will ask you to multiply out brackets. Here's how:

(x + 2) (x + 3)

KEY:
multiply everything in the first bracket by the second bracket

So, we multiply x by x = x2
Then, x by 3 = 3x
then 2 by x = 2x
then 2 by 3 = 6 to get:
x2 + 2x + 3x+ 6
= x2 + 5x + 6
