Well here is a great simple tip from Angie to allow you to open up those pop ups when you need to whilst allowing them to stay suppressed the rest of the time: If you have Windows Vista and find pop-ups seem to be blocked, whether the pop up blocker is on or off, just hold down Control and Alt as you open the window and lo and behold the pop up window will appear
