How To Overcome Social Anxiety
Self Development : Relationships Social anxiety can be a stressful and frustrating problem to deal with in everyday life. Remember that we are all equal and we all have the right to our own opinions and feelings. Don't be too hard on yourself and put yourself down when it comes to relationships and talking to people. Try to focus on the the positive things that you do, rather than just the negative. Don't blame yourself when conversations go awquard, it is not your fault. You are both responsible for making a conversation work. Don't do the 'post-mortem' after a conversation and pick out all the 'wrong' things that you feel you did. Don't take things personally, such as when people look away when your talking. Try not to mind-read and think things such as 'she thinks i'm stupid', remember these thoughts are not facts, but your perceptions. Remember that people are rarely critical of others, they are usually to preoccupied with their own feelings, and there are no right or wrong ways of communiating. Everybody is different. Just be yourself, and try to relax when talking to others. Say to yourself everyday, 'it's OK to just be me'.
