Part 2: Interview Mistakes: Turning Up Late
| Jobs : Successful Job Search Interview Process You should always make your utmost effort to turn up on time for the interview. If you are travelling by car, leave 30 minutes or so earlier than you normally would to comfortably make the journey. This should take care of roadwords or heavy traffic. If travelling by public transport like the train, then it is actually probably safest to leave an hour either way, especially in the current climate if you are British - we all have experienced late trains far too often! Of course, there are times when it is unavoidable that you are late, in which case you should phone the company as early as possible to apologise and let them know. But if you just appear a bit late, and it is clear that there is no reason for it, then don't expect to get offered the job unless you are simply stunning at interview (and even then it is not guaranteed!)
