They know what their literature says already! Also avoid sounding repetitive, and talking about 'I' all the time. Don't write to sir/madam, or make it illegible and full of spelling errors. - don't get the job title wrong! If applying for a Senior Project Manager role, don't say Project Manager for instance. - don't write large paragraphs - don't fill it with jargon. You have years in the job to learn that! - don't use generalisations. Be specific. What is it about them that you like? - don't go over more than one page on a covering letter unless EXPLICITLY told to by the company
