Part 5i: Logic Test B: True Or False
Jobs : Successful Job Search CV Covering Letter And Exams Another sort of test is a logic test in which you are presented with a paragraph of text, and then a few statements about that text. You are asked to decide, based purely on the text and with no assumptions, whether each statement is definitely true or follows logically from the text is definitely false or does not follow from the text there is insufficient information to know either way. These can also be quite tricky, as we often make assumptions. Additionally, there is usually significant time pressure on these which means that people do not read carefully. But the key here really is to read very carefully - every word is significant. If a statement is definitely true then all the information for it to be true will be contained in the paragraph of text and you will not need to make any assumptions. If false, you will be able to prove on the basis of the text alone that it is not true. If neither of these is applicable, then plump for the third option. It's as simple as that - you just need to ask whether you can present unarguable evidence from the text to support the statement's being true or false. Bear this in mind and you will not go far wrong!
