Paying For Incoming Links

Computing : Search Engine Optimisation

One of the dilemmas that many people contemplate is whether to pay for links to their site to be displayed, from other sites (aside from questions around direct marketing methods such as using Adwords).

Paying for links on non-search engine sites is an interesting concept. Ultimately it will come down to budget and desire.

There are so many websites out there to split the traffic, that before forking out for links from another site you need to be sure that the traffic level of that site is such that they can drive a lot of traffic to you.

You then need to be sure that your information will be relevant to that site - if you serve one million impressions a day of a banner ad completely irrelevant to the audience of a website, then there will be little benefit for either party.

As a rule always try organic and free linking programs first, and if you do pay only commit a very small budget at first whilst you evaluate whether the method is going to work or not for you.
