Health And Fitness : Dieting Tips

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and will help stop you snacking too much throughout. Try out some of the following healthy ideas to start off your morning.

Scrambled eggs with some smoked salmon, chopped tomato and basil
Boiled egg on wholemeal toast
Wholemeal toast with either peanut butter or marmite
Hot or cold fruit topped with low fat yoghurt
Porridge with stewed fruit (such as apple and raisins or rhubarb)
Cereal but with skimmed milk
Fruit juice, fruit smoothies (freshly made), herbal or black tea, or one cup of coffee

For lunch you could try:

A baked potato with a small amount of low fat cream cheese and roasted vegetables, or tuna with a salad
Salmon or prawns on some wholemeal bread with salad
Vegetable and lentil soup and some red or white grapes
Avocado, chicken and tomato wholemeal bagel
Rice, pasta or couscous salad

For snacks, go for some unsalted nuts, fruit, celery or carrot sticks dipped in hummus, or oatcakes with cottage cheese.

Dinner ideas include:

Roast chicken with broccoli and sweet potato mash
Grilled sardines accompanies by ratatouille and brown rice
Wholemeal pasta with fresh pesto, tomatoes, sugar snap peas and some spinach
