How To Pick A Horse

Miscellaneous

If you are picking a horse that you think will win a race, then what can you go on?

The best is to look at several factors:

- the form of that individual horse in its previous races: where did it come, and what was the quality of the race?

- is the stable it belongs to in form?

- what type of ground does it like, and is that the ground likely to be there today?

- is it a fan of particular courses, and is it running at one of its favourite courses?

- is it running over the same distance today as it normally runs over, or more or less, and what impact will this have?

By analysing these questions for each horse then a good and clear position should emerge as to likely candidates to back in the race.
