How To Play Doubles
Sport : Tennis The key to a good doubles match, unlike singles these days, is always to get to the net first. In general the team that dominates the net and gets there first, will win the point, and therefore the match. Against decent volleyers it is very hard to consistently win points against them at net - they are too solid and will cover the net, and you can't lob them well every single point! Therefore if you are not very good at volleying, then this is one of the skills that you really need to work on to become good at doubles. Try mixing things up in doubles too - serve from further out wide than in singles to create some interesting angles, and make it harder for the receiver to angle the ball past your partner at net, who may get some easy balls to put away.
