How To Prepare For Halloween

Miscellaneous

If you are happy for trick or treaters to come round your house then put an outside light on and maybe a pumpkin in the window to welcome children to your door. It will make it more friendly and inviting. Leave a bowl of sweets in the hall way, so you are ready to dish them out when your door bell goes.

However, if you do not want people to come to your door, then its best to put a note outside to politely say no trick or treaters. You may want to also turn your lights off, particularly at the front of the house and close the curtains. Hopefully this should do the trick (no pun intended).

It is a good idea to put any cars, especially expensive ones, in the garage in case they get scratched or egged. If you leave in a particularly dodgy area then you could try taping your letter box shut with strong tape so that you don’t get eggs through your door. Or you could place newspaper just below it.
