How To Prevent Dry Hair

Beauty : Haircare

Avoid washing your hair every day as this strips it of its natural oils, and remember to use nourishing and non harsh products. Look for shampoos specifically for dry hair, then always use conditioner on your ends afterwards and rinse thoroughly. Brush your hair whilst it is still wet otherwise it will become knotty and harder to remove tangles which will cause breaks.

Blow drying and straightening are the main culprits in drying out your hair very quickly so leave it after a shower. If you really have to straighten it, apply a heat protecting spray whilst damp, then when it has dried out do a maximum of 2 strokes on each section of hair. Try not to use the highest temperature setting either – we don’t want you to burn your hair off!

Use as little products as possible – question the need to use all these different dyes, sprays and gels as the chemicals in these can sometimes be harsh.

Drink plenty of water and maintain a healthy diet. Sometimes air conditioning systems can affect your hair aswell so best to avoid these too, and rinse thoroughly after going swimming because of the chlorine in the pool.
